Get involved in Willow Week 2022 and celebrate your support for Hospice Care in Derwentside
In 2020 we launched the first ever Willow Week and this year (9 – 15 May) it is back to raise vital funds and shine a spotlight on the special work of the nursing, care and counselling teams at Willow Burn.

There is often a perception that hospices are fully funded services however this is not the case. Whilst a small percentage of funding does come from local NHS, we are responsible for funding 60% of our costs. So, we’re encouraging as many people as possible to get involved with Willow Week. Whether it’s taking part in a challenge event, wearing green for the day, organising your own fundraising activity, hosting a Willow Burn Workshop for your group or hosting a Willow Burn collection box.

The date is particularly important because it also coincides with two national campaigns which are very special to us: Dying Matters Week and International Nurses’ Day.
